2006-03-28 12:10:53

National Library Week, April 2-9, 2006 is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers to their schools, campuses and communities.

As part of this annual event, the Cleveland State University Library will be hosting the following programs and events:

April 2-9, 2006 Food for Fines
Have a Library fine? Help the community by donating non-perishable items in order to reduce it. For every item donated, $1 of your fine will be eliminated - up to $20 (cannot be used for replacement fees). Drop items off at the first floor User Services Center.

April 2-9, 2006 Library Facility Survey
Take a few minutes to fill out our survey and enter for a chance to win an iPOD nano, jump drive, iTunes gift card, and more. To take the survey, come to the Library and log in to one of our computers. Click on the Take the Library Facility Survey icon.

Tuesday April 4, 2006 National Library Worker's Day
Stop by the University Library and tell your favorite librarian or staff member how much you appreciate what they do.

Tuesday April 4, 2006 12 p.m. Library Facilities Open House for Faculty
Come to the Library Facilities Open House and enter to win an iPOD. Check out our instruction rooms, viewing room, computer labs, and more and see how our technology enhanced areas can be used for classroom instruction, presentations, meetings, and WebCT. All attendees will be entered into a drawing for an iPOD nano. Refreshments will be served. The Open House will begin in RT 808.

Thursday, April 6, 2006 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Writing and Research Help Drop-in Session
Each Thursday in April, from 12-1:00 pm, the Library will be hosting writing/research workshops for all CSU students wanting tips on improving their writing and research skills. This collaborative effort between the Writing Center and University Library allows students to drop into the Library Computer Learning Center where Writing Center Director, Dr. Mary Murray, and Library Staff will assist them with writing revisions, planning and research. Dr. Eric Gardner, Director of Composition, will also be available to help students with English 102 essays. Help will be available to students at each stage of the paper writing process, from vague idea to revising a completed draft.

For the first session, April 6th, in honor of National Library Week, we will offer light refreshments.

Friday April 7, 2006 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friends of the Library Book Sale
Help support the Friends of the CSU Library and find some great books at great prices. The Book Sale will be held on the first floor of the Library in Rhodes Tower.
