Constitution Day events

Constitution Day is celebrated every September 17 to commemorate the signing of the United States Constitution on that date back in 1787 in the State House (now Independence Hall) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention.

Special events and activities are planned for the University's celebration of the U.S. Constitution, including:

* An online contest in which students can win an iPod mini, jump drive, $50 bookstore gift certificate, and five $5 copy cards. Visit http://www.ulib.csuohio.edu/constitution/quiz to take the quiz.
* Free screening of films with a Revolutionary War or Constitutional theme in the library's viewing room (RT 325) on Tuesday, Sept. 13 and Thursday, Sept. 15 from noon to 2 p.m., and a live broadcast from the National Archives, "Free Speech in the Digital Age," on Friday, Sept. 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the new Library Connection Lounge on the first floor.
* Speaker Lloyd Snyder, Associate Dean and Professor of Law, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law will be discussing "The U.S. Constitution: An Amazing Document, Warts and All on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from noon to 1 p.m. on the third floor of the library, outside the archives.
