Library open until 6:00 p.m. Fridays!

For spring semester 2006, when classes are in session, the University Library will be open until 6:00 p.m. on Fridays. Increasingly the library staff have noticed that many more students are using the Library late on Friday afternoons. Also, we have students and faculty who need to make the Library their last stop of the day before the weekend, and frequently arrive just as we are locking up. So, we are offering this extended hour on Fridays as a pilot program to determine whether or not it is beneficial to the University community.

Science Fair in the Library

Students from the Early College High School, currently housed in the Corlett Building, have set up their Science Fair projects on the 4th floor of the library outside rooms 401 and 402. The projects will be available for viewing throughout the afternoon of January 11th with the actual judging taking place Thursday morning, January 12th. The public is welcome to stop up and have a look.

The SCHOLAR Catalog will be down Friday, January 13th

This Friday, the Library will be replacing its current SCHOLAR Catalog server in order to better serve your needs. Beginning 9 am and continuing throughout the afternoon, Library services will be interrupted. Some of the services that will not be available are access to SCHOLAR, the Library's catalog (although general searching can still be done though the OhioLINK catalog), requesting materials through OhioLINK, access to Electronic Course Reserves, etc. If you have any questions about a particular service, please contact (216) 687-5300.

Planned Internet Outage

There will be a planned Internet Outage for the Main Campus, East and West Centers on Friday January 6, 2006 from 8pm until midnight. The outages will affect all Internet access from on campus and modem dial in users. This Internet Outage is required to perform necessary maintenance on the network.
